Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most popular questions about WakePulse system.

How is the electronic queue organized in WakePulse?

WakePulse provides two variants of electronic queue subsystem operation:

Hardware-software with RFID bracelets and readers: Administrator registers client and issues RFID bracelet. When brought to the reader, client automatically joins the queue. To start a set, operator presses button on reader or client brings bracelet to reader again. Set start and end time is recorded by system, client balance deduction happens automatically (with prepayment). With insufficient funds on balance, client will be notified by voice message and cannot join queue. At set time end, carriage forward movement blocking can be configured (requires connection to control panel).

Software: Client registers with wakepark administrator. Operator (or administrator) in CRM system adds client to queue and manually starts set through interface (after Telegram/VK app implementation, client will be able to join queue themselves). For queue management, operator "Queue Monitors" are created with additional control buttons (set start, movement and removal from queue). Suitable for wakeparks with low load.

How does the hardware work and what is needed for installation?

For bracelet operation, the bracelets themselves and a reader are required. Bracelets can be purchased on marketplace (~$1.5 each).

For reader operation, a stable Wi-Fi network is needed. Reader is purchased separately. Currently prototypes are being manufactured for some wakeparks. After production launch, readers will be available for purchase. Cost will vary from $75 to $150 depending on configuration.

What types of tariffs does the system support?

WakePulse supports several tariff types:

  • Per-set riding - payment deduction occurs for each set.
  • Full day and packages - tariff with specified time period or number of sets.
  • Seasonal - for regular clients for the entire season.
  • Promo - special promotional tariffs with possible usage limitations.
  • Operator - for wakepark staff.

System automatically suggests suitable tariff depending on day of week, time and client type.

How does ride booking work?

We designed a way to combine guests standing in the live queue with guests who booked their ride in advance.

The administrator creates a booking for the client for a specific time. A prepayment can be added if needed. A configurable time before the start, the booked client appears in the queue monitor in a separate list.

When the client arrives at reception, the administrator activates the booking and places the client into a specific queue position, for example 2nd or 3rd. This can be defined in settings or set manually. This way, guests in the live queue can see clients who booked in advance, which removes questions about people appearing outside the queue.

If the client does not arrive by the scheduled time, the prepayment can be forfeited. This is also configurable in the settings.

Later, booking and prepayment will also be added to the MiniApp and to an embeddable solution for the wakepark website.

How do wake sessions (visits) and client balance work?

For riding, client opens wake session (visit) with tariff and payment type selection (prepayment or postpayment). With prepayment, funds are deducted at set start, with postpayment - at session closing.

Client can top up their balance and use it for riding payment. With insufficient balance and prepayment, client cannot join queue. If funds remain on balance after session closing, system will offer to return them or leave for future rides.

System allows changing tariff during wake session with automatic cost recalculation.

Is internet connection required for system operation?

Currently WakePulse works on central server, so constant internet connection is required for system operation.

In parallel, local solution is being tested in real wakepark. But such system will be more expensive as it requires local server (additional $150-200).

How are queue monitors configured?

System allows creating multiple queue monitors for display on TVs, tablets or other devices in wakepark.

For each monitor, queue display can be configured for all wakepark cables or only for specific cables. Monitor access is via unique link without authorization required.

Monitors update in real time when queue state changes.

How is staff working time tracked?

Manual and automatic working time tracking is possible, and for cable operators - number of sets they conducted.

Operators get BLE tag ($4.5 on marketplace), at shift start/end operator brings it to reception reader - shift automatically opens/closes. For tracking number of conducted sets, operator places tag near reader. Thus operator will be linked to this cable and sets. Operator detection, change and loss are accompanied by voice notifications from reader. In program settings, operator payment amount per conducted set can be specified. Current operator can be displayed on queue monitor (later also in Telegram bot).

Is anyone using the system?

First system version was launched at "Yula/Majic" wakepark in late 2023 season. In 2024, system worked full season at wakepark (3 reverse cables, various tariffs, promotions, shop, additional services, etc.). Since late 2024, system software was completely rewritten with modern interface, new functions added and support for multiple wakeparks.
